EAC Day of Action

Action Plan for young people launched

Vibrant Communities, in partnership with Police Scotland and Scottish Fire & Rescue Service, are working together to provide diversionary activities for young people across East Ayrshire.

Each organisation is creating an action plan for young people that will give them positive activities to get involved in and reduce any potential impact of youth disorder in communities.

The action plan will include a Vibrant Communities holiday programme throughout the spring break as well as the Council’s youth action team providing a variety of pop up activities in particular areas. The team will also be working with Education to create themed roadshows that will be delivered to Secondary 2 and 3 pupils in the lead up to the summer holidays. It’s also hoped that the Children and Young People’s Cabinet will become involved to help keep our communities safe for everyone to enjoy.

Discussions will also take place with licensed premises about the sale of alcohol and the police will be using drones in particular areas of parks to help prevent any issues from occurring.
