Alex Ritchie celebrates his 100th birthday
Alex Ritchie has been celebrating his centenary in Darvel. Mr Ritchie enlisted with the Royal Air Force in 1942 and served in the RAF during WW2.
Provost Jim Todd presented a gift from East Ayrshire Council and Deputy Lieutenant David Dickson presented Alex with a telegram from HM The King and The Queen Consort.
Family and friends, RAF, Royal British Legion and Kilmarnock ATC also attended the presentation and celebrations. A fly past of two aircraft also was arranged to celebrate his birthday.
