Colour fun at Onthank Primary raises over £7,000 for the school!
On a beautiful day in June, Onthank Primary School was full of laughter and awash with colour when Onthank Parent Council held a sponsored colour run.
Supported by local businesses - Andrew Lindsay Mortgage Services, Strength Sanctuary, Premier Gas & Mechanical Solutions Ltd, the New Fun Heng, The Dug Folk, Agnes Joseph Ltd and Carey Hughes Solicitors – the school raised over £7,000 which will be used to subsidise school trips and buy additional classroom resources.
Chelsea from Onthank Parent Council said: “What an amazing day we had. Everyone pulled together to ensure that the children, and the adults, would have loads of fun while raising vital funding for our school. Killie Striders came along on the day to help with the colour run and their support was very much appreciated, and Amy from Reflections Photography was on hand to get some great photos for us.
“The money we have raised will be put to very good use. In addition to subsidising school trips, we hope to get some more playground equipment next academic year to build on what we started this year.”
Councillor Elaine Cowan, Spokesperson for Education and, Children and Young People said: “Huge congratulations to Onthank Parent Council on their fundraising efforts. I don’t think there could be a better example of ‘community’ and of people coming together to support their local school. Chelsea and the whole Onthank Parent Council have worked hard to build excellent relationships with local businesses and this has created great opportunities for our children and young people. Well done everyone and thank you!”
