Colour running in Kilmarnock

Over 180 people took part in a Colour Run at Howard Park organised by East Ayrshire Children and Young People’s Cabinet as part of the legacy of the Year of the Young People 2018. 

The group wanted to showcase their organisational and communication skills by taking on the event and ensuring that it was led by young people.

The event was opened by Children’s Champion and Depute Provost Claire Leitch who said: “This was a great turnout for a great event that really showed how much hard work the Young People’s Cabinet put into organising it. I know they want to thank everyone who made the Colour Run happen and those who attended, as well as staff from Vibrant Communities who supported the event. Everyone seemed to have really good fun and it was a great way to continue the good work that was started last year during the Year of Young People.”
