Consultation on investment in North West Kilmarnock
In April, Cabinet reached agreement on the proposal for an inclusive educational development in North West Kilmarnock, on the sites of Mount Carmel Primary and Onthank Primary and Early Childhood Centre, and a full public consultation was undertaken.
The Council has published its Consultation Report today, Friday 26 August 2022.
This report has been prepared following review of the proposals to:
- discontinue the Willowbank Primary School provision within the existing Willowbank School and its relocation to the current Onthank Campus
- establish an additional Early Years Transition Facility with the relocated Willowbank Primary School
- formally incorporate the existing Inclusion Resource at Onthank Campus as a Supported Learning Centre
- establish an Early Childhood Centre at Mount Carmel Primary School
The report fully considered all relevant written representations during the consultation period, oral representations made at the three public meetings held in May 2022 and Education Scotland’s report on the consultation proposals.
The Consultation Report will be available from Friday 26 August on East Ayrshire Council’s website and from Onthank and Mount Carmel Primary Schools, Willowbank School and Onthank Early Childhood Centre.
