Council flies the flag for Armed Forces Day
Members of the armed forces gathered at Council Headquarters in Kilmarnock this week to pay tribute to the contribution made by all those who serve or have served in His Majesty’s Armed Forces.
A specially designed flag was raised to show the Council’s continued support for our armed forces community.
Depute Provost John McGhee said: “I was honoured to welcome serving personnel and veterans to Council headquarters to mark Armed Forces Day and to have the opportunity to show our support and thank them for the work they do to keep us all safe.
“The day is a chance for us to join together to show our respect to those who work tirelessly to protect our freedom and keep us safe, as well as acknowledging the vital contribution made by reservists, veterans, cadets and military families, whose support is so important.”
