Current funeral arrangements

During the current Covid-19 crisis, East Ayrshire Council is having to put certain measures in place to protect families, communities and its key workers so that it can continue to provide critical services in the weeks ahead.

The Council therefore respectfully asks that people adhere to the government guidelines on social distancing, no unnecessary travel, social isolation and ensuring that funerals are attended by immediate family members only, with these being defined as:

Spouse/partner

Parents/carers

Brothers/sisters

Children (and partners)

Councillor Elena Whitham, Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities, said: “We know that these measures will be difficult for many families at what is already a very difficult time for them. We do however hope that people will appreciate the need for them as we face these incredibly challenging times and we thank everyone for their understanding and their support.”
