Dalrymple Primary receives glowing report
A visit to Dalrymple Primary and Early Childhood Centre by Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Education has led a glowing report that highlights work by Head Teacher Simon Leitch that has developed ‘a culture where children, families and staff feel valued.”
The follow up visit by inspectors focused on progress that had been made addressing areas of improvement that had been identified and they engaged with staff, parents and carers and most importantly, the children and young people.
The inspector found that staff had supported children and their families well throughout the pandemic, that the new Head Teacher and his depute lead their teams well and that they had ‘rightly prioritised a whole school focus on wellbeing’, and the children and young people have made progress in their learning. They concluded that the school and ECC had made good progress addressing areas for improvement and that the school and ECC work well together with a sense of team across the school.
Councillor Elaine Cowan, Cabinet Member for Lifelong Learning, Education and Skills and Culture said: “I am delighted for Head Teacher Simon Leitch and his team that Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Education has issued such a positive report and I wish to congratulate everyone involved.
“The inspectors ‘observed happy and confident children’ and this reflects the ethos of the school and the exceptional support provided to our children and young people, and their parents and carers, throughout the pandemic.”
