Dyslexia Roadshow success

A Dyslexia Roadshow held in Kilmarnock last week provided support and information for people who live with dyslexia, or know someone who does.

Organised by Vibrant Communities as part of Dyslexia Awareness Week Scotland, the free event at St Joseph's Campus gave people the chance to chat about dyslexia and the support that is available. Workshops were also held which gave information about how visual difficulties can affect reading; tips and practical help for using devices, and a representative from Dekko Comics discussed fun ways to engage reluctant readers.

Councillor Jim McMahon, Cabinet Spokesperson for Housing, Transport and Communities, said: “This was a very well attended event that featured fantastic workshops providing tips and advice for anyone living with dyslexia. There has been great feedback from the workshop hosts, marketplace stall holders, teachers and member of the public, so thanks to everyone who came along and to Vibrant Communities for organising such a worthwhile event.”
