East Ayrshire pupils await SQA results

Speaking on the eve of the SQA results being released on Tuesday 4 August, Linda McAulay-Griffiths, Head of Education at East Ayrshire Council said: “In so many ways, this has been one of the most challenging and unsettling years for our young people, their parents and carers and their teachers.

“However, it is important that the achievements of young people are recognised and celebrated and it is my hope that every young person receives results that are reflective of their efforts throughout the year.

“Support is available for young people who have any questions arising from this year’s results and they should contact their school to discuss these.”

Councillor Fiona Campbell, Cabinet member for Education said: “Well done to all of our young people!  This year our young people have proven themselves to be incredibly resilient, coping with additional pressures such as timetable disruption and distance learning during a global pandemic.

“I know how hard they have worked to achieve their full potential and I hope they all receive the results they rightly deserve.”

On Friday 29 May, schools across East Ayrshire submitted estimated grades to the SQA for all senior phase pupils who had been working towards achieving National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher qualifications.

Full details of pupil achievements are collated via the national INSIGHT platform and this information will be available in late September.

The Council is issuing a separate letter to young people via school apps with specific guidance to assist them in next steps.
