Killie Trust Festive Futsal Cup competition

The Killie Trust Festive Futsal Cup competition was held at Grange Campus recently, where five primary school football teams competed for the coveted Cup.

Teams from Annanhill, Crosshouse, Darvel, Gargieston and James Hamilton Primary Schools took part in the competition organised by the Kilmarnock FC East Ayrshire Primary Supporters Club and the Killie Trust.

The young people had great fun and played the indoor festival with real enthusiasm, commitment and fair play. Annanhill Primary were the overall winners, lifting the Cup after the final game against Gargieston Primary.

Provost Jim Todd dropped by to cheer on the teams with local member and Leader of the Council, Councillor Douglas Reid, before presenting the Cup. He said: “I was so pleased to attend the Killie Trust Festive Futsal Cup and to present the Cup to the winners, Annanhill Primary. It was just brilliant to see all the young people playing their hearts out and showing real respect to all the other players.

“Well done to all the organisers who put on a fantastic event. I know that the Killie Trust are keen to work with local primary schools with more events planned for 2024. As a lifelong Killie fan, I am really keen to encourage our children and young people to get along to the games and show support for their local club.”

Local member, Councillor Iain Linton also attended the competition and presented the Player of the competition award to Cody from P7 at Annanhill Primary.
