Kinship Christmas Cracker
Christmas is a very special time of year – a time for giving, full of hope and happiness. But for one particular group of young people it can also be a particularly difficult time of year if they are spending time away from their families and loved ones.
This year’s Kinship Christmas Party for looked-after young people took place in WG13 in Kilmarnock. Forty young people from across East Ayrshire came together to enjoy an evening of festive fun - and it was made all the more special thanks to the generosity of Tesco Extra who kindly donated selection boxes for the occasion.
Children’s champion and Depute Provost, Claire Leitch was delighted to receive these ahead of the party itself. She said: “This is such a generous gesture from Tesco. Many of these young people have experienced some upset and distress in their family lives and this event aims to restore some joy in their lives. I’m extremely grateful to Tesco Extra for providing these gifts and for helping to make the evening just that little bit more special.”
