Men’s Health Week 2018
Men’s Health Week will take place from Monday 11 June until Sunday 17 June and will focus on tackling rising levels of diabetes among men through healthy eating and exercise.
Medical research shows that men are more likely to develop diabetes and are more likely to suffer serious and life changing complications, including amputation.
Your waist measurement is directly linked to an increased risk of developing a serious illness. If your waist measures over 37 inches (94cm) you are at risk of developing diabetes, heart disease, cancer, stroke and erection problems.
The Lifestyle Development and Community Wellbeing team will be promoting Men’s Health Week on the CHIP Van during June.
The team will be on hand to provide a free health MOT, helpful information on how to lead a healthier lifestyle and will keep a tape measure handy to check your waist size.
