New access gate to Western Road recycling centre opens this weekend
Access to the household waste recycling centre on Western Road, Kilmarnock is changing.
From Saturday 26 March, residents will access the recycling centre from a new gate via John Walker Drive. The new access arrangements mean that residents will be able to recycle their household waste within a contained area. Our operatives will access the site from the old gate so the two sides of the site will be entirely separate.
Bob McCulloch, Interim Head of Housing and Communities said: “The new access arrangements at the household waste recycling centre on Western Road, Kilmarnock will make visiting the site much easier for residents. The same recycling and waste disposal will be available; the only change is that residents will now access the centre via John Walker Drive.
“The public area of the site will be secure and a one way system will ensure that residents can recycle their waste with as few delays as possible.”
Public access to the main reception for Cleaner and Greener Communities Services will remain the same and can be accessed from the gates on Western Road on weekdays.
