New road resurfacing projects set to get underway this July
East Ayrshire’s extensive £6m road resurfacing programme is continuing at pace throughout the summer months.
The Roads Maintenance Unit Section in the Ayrshire Roads Alliance has designed a road resurfacing programme covering 60km of local roads which will ensure that resurfacing work focuses on the roads most affected by defects, potholes and surface fragmentation.
Teams will be resurfacing substantial stretches of road; moving away from temporary repairs on isolated patches and potholes.
On Monday 2 July the team will move to Crofthead Road, Kilmaurs where 200 metres will be resurfaced between Crofthead Road and Yardside Road.
On Monday 9 July they will move to Standalane, Galston where 150 metres will be resurfaced between Titchfield Street and Milton Road.
On Monday 16 July, they will then move to the B743 Sorn to Muirkirk road where 2400 metres will be resurfaced from the A70 to Townhead of Greenock. The following week, 1000 metres will be resurfaced from Garple Bridge to North Limmerhaugh then 2100 metres will be resurfaced from Burnshield to Breedon Quarry.
The Alliance thanks you for your consideration and patience while these essential works are undertaken.
