Nominations open for Customer Service Excellence Award

Later this year East Ayrshire Council will be celebrating the contribution our employees make to our communities at our Excellence Award Ceremony.

There will be eight awards on the night and we are seeking nominations for the Council Leader’s Award for Excellence in Customer Service.

Councillor Douglas Reid, Leader of the Council said: “The Council is here to serve our communities and it is our communities who are best placed to assess whether or not the service they receive meets their expectations.

“We are seeking nominations for employees who have made a real difference to the lives of local people. The last winner in this category was Nick Kelly, Stephen Baird and the Outdoor Services team who were nominated by Margaret McLean. Margaret tragically lost her son to suicide and the team supported her whole family through this very difficult time. They also helped the family to clear up The Mount at Knockinlaw in her son’s memory.

“Margaret wrote on her submission: “I would not have been able to grieve as easily for my son if it hadn’t been for the care, kindness and compassion that both of these men showed over and over again.”

“Nick, Stephen and the team displayed excellence in the service they provide to our communities and I was delighted to present them with my award.

“I am looking forward to receiving this year’s nominations and I am sure that I will have a really tough task on my hands once again when the time comes to choose a winner.”
