Paige helping to end period poverty

Kilmarnock Academy pupil Paige Holland spent her summer holidays tirelessly hand-crafting individual toilet bags and filling them with sanitary products which have now been distributed to all of the new S1 girls who started at the school in August.

This kind act was part of Paige’s previous project in relation to the National Period Poverty Campaign. Paige, who is in S3, has already hand-crafted larger toilet bags which are currently filled with free sanitary products and are placed in every toilet cubicle in the girls’ and accessible toilets at Kilmarnock Academy.

Paige and her family covered all of the costs involved in designing and making the bags and as a gesture of appreciation for all of Paige’s selflessness, Kilmarnock Academy has donated £150 to Paige’s chosen charity, the Royal Hospital for Children.
