Play parks reopen

Play parks reopening 29 June

All of East Ayrshire Council’s play parks and multi-use games arenas will reopen on Monday 29 June.

The Council is asking members of the public to follow some basic guidelines in accordance with government guidance so that everyone can stay safe while having fun in the park.

Anyone who has symptoms of coronavirus should not visit a play park and physical distancing should be maintained between you and anyone not in your household. People should bring disinfectant wipes or similar with them to clean hands and surfaces whilst using the equipment, and any coughs and sneezes should be caught in a tissue or the crook of your elbow and then the tissues disposed of responsibly.

Councillor Elena Whitham, Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities, said: “We’re so pleased that children will be able to get back out playing in our parks as the summer holidays arrive and I’m sure that their first shot on the swings will be more enjoyed and appreciated than ever!

“We all still obviously have to follow government guidance on social distancing and hygiene measures which we hope all visitors to the parks will stick to for the safety of themselves and those around them.”
