Recruitment Fair set for 7 March

Kilmarnock’s Grand Hall is set to be filled with businesses showcasing vacancies on 7 March as East Ayrshire Council’s Employability team hold another in their highly successful series of recruitment events aimed at matching up people with prospective employers and training courses.

Typically the fairs attract over 50 employers, and many have already signed up since the date was announced, including Hyspec Engineering, EGGERUtility Warehouse, Enable, the National Autistic Society and East Ayrshire Council’s own Early Years service

They’re recruiting support workers, early years practitioners,  trainee precision tool machining engineers, and self employment opportunities.

And for anyone looking for specialist training, including Modern Apprenticeships there are all sorts of opportunities available from Ayrshire College, Respite Now cic, Start Scotland/Working Links, The Wise GroupStreet League, WG13, Jim Mair Driver Training, Morrison Construction, Skills Development Scotland, Disclosure Scotland and East Ayrshire Council.

More organisations will be confirmed nearer the time.

Welcoming the news, Councillor Jim Roberts said: “It’s great to see our first recruitment event of 2019 get underway. In East Ayrshire we’re lucky to have a pool of talented and hard working people who just need to get the right opportunities to  flourish, and these events are a great way of bringing them together with enthusiastic, supportive employers. There’s no substitute for meeting face to face, having a chat and finding out more about what each other has to offer.  So whether people are new school leavers, unsure of which direction to go in, or older people looking to change job, get back into work or retrain in  a new profession, our event is a great place to start.”

The Recruitment Event runs from 9.30am to 12.00 noon on Thursday 7 March. It’s free and open to anyone on a drop in basis.
