Report It! – QR codes makes reporting even easier
Last summer, Greener Communities launched a new online system to help residents report issues within their communities – Report It!
The reporting system, which can be found on the Council’s website, is straightforward to use and has proved very popular with residents reporting issues including playpark equipment, graffiti, littering, dog fouling and issues within our cemeteries.
But we want to make it even easier for residents.
QR codes are being installed on bins across East Ayrshire so that all you have to do is open the Report It! link from the QR code -take a photo of the issue with your phone, select the issue you want to report, scroll down to add some background information and a location, then upload your photo.
Your report is sent to Greener Communities for processing and assigned to the appropriate team to deal with the issue. For graffiti, if it is highly offensive, the team will aim to attend within two working days. Remember we can only remove graffiti from buildings in public ownership, it is the responsibility of the owner in all other cases.
Councillor Jim McMahon, Spokesperson for Housing, Transport and Communities said: “Since launching last summer, Report It! has proved very popular and easy to use for residents. There are 15 different categories that you can report and by adding a photo it makes the whole process straightforward and more efficient.
“We want to make access even easier and QR codes will be applied to bins across East Ayrshire so that residents access Report It! online via their phones.”
