Resignation of Provost Jim Todd
Provost Jim Todd will be stepping down from his role as Provost of East Ayrshire due to personal circumstances from 31 October 2024.
The Provost intends to continue to serve as a Member for Ward 5 for as long as he is able to do so.
Provost Todd said: “It has been an absolute honour and privilege to serve the Council and our communities as Provost, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every engagement and event, of which there have been many over the years.
“However, in personal terms, I simply don’t feel I can continue to give of my best in the role and therefore it is with deep regret that I have decided that the right thing to do is stand down. My heartfelt thanks go to all fellow Members, officers and to the members of our communities who have supported me in the role of Provost in what I consider to be the best Council in Scotland.”
The Council will be invited to appoint the next Provost at the meeting on 31 October.
