Rosebank Resource Centre turns ten

Friends, family and regular patrons all enjoyed a sunny day at Rosebank Resource Centre in Kilmarnock last weekend as it celebrated its tenth anniversary with a barbeque and lively music from the Tattiehowkers ceilidh band.

The centre supports up to 40 elderly people each day from Kilmarnock, Hurlford, Crosshouse, Gatehead and Kilmaurs, helping them to develop and maintain independence, build confidence, receive rehabilitation, and enjoy socialising with others. Carer respite is often provided too. The popularity of Rosebank was summed up by one user of the service who said: “The staff at Rosebank are so caring and cheerful; they make you feel special.”

Many councillors attended throughout the day as well as Fiona Lees, Chief Executive of East Ayrshire Council, and Eddie Fraser, Director of the East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership.

Eddie Fraser said: “This wonderful event was enjoyed by all and thanks must go to Sheila Monk, the centre manager, who works tirelessly to offer the best services to those who use this facility.”
