School closures 7 January 2026

Multi-service meetings continue to take place daily at Barony Campus.
After the most recent meeting, following consideration of our duty of care to all children and young people, the difficult decision has been taken to keep Hillside School, Lochnorris Primary and SLC, and Cherry Trees ECC closed for the remainder of this week.
The Council had been very hopeful that the Campus would partially open tomorrow, Thursday 8 January, however, due to ongoing instability of heating systems, this will not be possible. Engineers and a number of contractors are onsite addressing these issues.
A further update will be provided to parents and carers on Friday 9 January. The Council anticipates that the full Campus will reopen on Monday 12 January.

The Robert Burns Academy and SLC will remain closed until Monday 12 January.
Hillside School, Lochnorris Primary and SLC, and Cherry Trees ECC will remain closed today. Parents and carers will be updated this afternoon.

Patna PS and ECC and St Xavier's PS will open as normal tomorrow, Wednesday 7 January.

Multi-service meetings continue to take place at Barony Campus to address matters that have arisen since Sunday.
After the most recent meeting, following consideration of our duty of care to the pupils, a decision has been taken to keep Hillside School, Lochnorris Primary and SLC, and Cherry Trees ECC closed tomorrow, Wednesday 7 January due to ongoing issues with the heating system.
A further update will be provided to parents and carers tomorrow and the Council remains hopeful that the Campus will partially reopen on Thursday.

Patna PS and ECC and St Xavier's PS will be closed today due to heating problems.
Update 2.50pm 5 January 2026
Drongan Primary and ECC will open as normal tomorrow, Tuesday 6 January.
We can also confirm that Sorn Primary, Catrine Primary and ECC, and Flowerbank ECC will all open as normal tomorrow, Tuesday 6 January.

Barony Campus- Hillside School, Lochnorris PS and SLC, and Cherry Trees ECC will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday 6 January. An update will be provided to parents and carers tomorrow afternoon following further site visits.
The Robert Burns Academy and SLC will remain closed until Monday 12 January, due to internal flood damage.

Barony Campus update - additional closures Monday 5 January 2026
We have been advised that ALL establishments on Barony Campus will be now closed tomorrow Monday 5 January 2026 due to heating failure. This now includes Lochnorris PS and SLC, Cherry Trees and Hillside School. Further updates will be provided tomorrow.

The Robert Burns Academy and SLC will be closed on Monday 5 January 2026 due to flooding. All other establishments on Campus will open as normal. We will update parents and carers as soon as we know more.
