Willie Coffey was elected with a majority of 11,681

The turnout figure within the Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley Constituency was 61.53%
The Regional Returning Officer (Chief Executive of Dumfries and Galloway Council) will announce the South of Scotland regional list results on Saturday 8 May. Seven candidates will be elected.

The Constituency Returning Officer was Eddie Fraser.
- There were a total of 28 polling places in Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley, which were open from 07:00 to 22:00
- 112 ballot boxes were filled with postal votes
- There were a total of 260 ballot boxes, which were transported to the Galleon Leisure Centre in Kilmarnock from the polling stations when the polls closed at 22:00
- The count began at 09:30 on Friday 7 May
- 15,262 applications were received for postal votes for the Scottish Parliamentary election for the Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley Constituency
- 86% of all postal votes requested were cast
- The current electorate for the Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley Constituency is 66,170
