St Joseph’s Academy Art and Design Exhibition

St Joseph’s Academy held an Art and Design Exhibition at Ayrshire College recently displaying the talent of their Advanced Higher Art pupils.

The collection displayed the pupils’ Advanced Higher folio work and included a variety of fine art, fashion, sculpture and design.

Councillor Fiona Campbell, Cabinet Member for Skills and Learning said: “The skill and talent that our young people have displayed is quite incredible. I am so impressed by their artwork, in all its forms. The pupils are a credit to their teachers and their families who are all very proud.

“I would like to take this opportunity to wish our young people every success in their exams and in their future careers.”

It has been a busy few months for the Art Department. In December last year the school held a charity fashion show in aid of the Beatson that showcased the work of third year pupils.

They had worked on a design project creating fashion and body adornments based on cancer cells and blood cells. The young people raised over £200 for the Beatson.
