Telephone scam alert

We have been made aware that some East Ayrshire residents have been asked for personal details during phone calls to check on how they are doing.

East Ayrshire Council is making regular calls to people who are shielding or vulnerable, but our call handlers WILL NOT ask for any personal details like bank information or NI numbers.

During the current lockdown and isolation arrangements, we have been alerted to an increase in the variety of scams, including many related to Coronavirus.  Please stay vigilant and remind those you know and work with, not to give over such details during phone calls.
