Things Tae Dae group celebrates the Bard

The Things Tae Dae social hub enjoyed a Burns supper this week.

This very active group of around 50 adults who have learning disabilities all got involved in addressing the haggis and reciting the Selkirk Grace as well as singing ‘Scots Wha Hae’.

The members were also fully involved with deciding on the guest list, and chose to invite Depute Provost Claire Leitch, Councillor Jim McMahon, and Eric Bennett from Cumnock Juniors Community Enterprise.

The day ended with Strings and Things playing music, giving members the opportunity to sing and dance along. The group is also already making plans for next year’s supper.
