Wellbeing project funding: East Ayrshire locals to pick their winners
East Ayrshire residents are being invited to choose which community health and wellbeing projects they think should receive a share of £250k funding.
Five voting events will take place across East Ayrshire, where communities can meet the fund applicants and decide which projects will best support the needs of their area.
The events are part of East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership’s participatory budgeting process, Wellbeing for All, with funding available to community organisations providing health and social care services.
The five voting events will be held on Thursday 27 October, 3pm - 7pm at the Howard Centre, Kilmarnock; Friday 28 October, 2pm - 6pm at the Annick Centre, Stewarton and Darvel Town Hall; and Friday 28 October, 3pm - 7pm at Cumnock Town Hall and Dalmellington Community Centre.
Over 60 projects are bidding for a share of the fund, ranging from breakfast clubs and community choirs to cancer support and addiction recovery services. The voting process allows resources to be prioritised in areas that really matter locally.
Further information about the participatory budgeting programme and voting events can be found on East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership’s website.
