King Street fire update 16 July 2025
A large stretch of King Street and Sandbed Street both remain closed as teams from East Ayrshire Council, Scottish Fire and Rescue, Police Scotland, demolition contractors and energy suppliers work to make the area safe following Monday night’s catastrophic fire.
Access to the area will continue to be restricted until further notice.

Change to operating hours at Western Road recycling centre for four days in July

As East Ayrshire’s five year multi-million pound Place Based Investment Programme enters its final year, Councillors recognised its success in bringing communities together to make real and lasting improvements through co-operation, consultation and a process of “sharing the love” which has meant funds were eked out to provide the maximum possible benefits in communities large and small throughout the whole area.
