A735 diversion route

Road resurfacing works to be carried out on A735 from 12 June

As part of an ongoing programme to improve the condition of the road network, the Ayrshire Roads Alliance will be carrying out essential road resurfacing works on a stretch of the A735 Dunlop to Stewarton Road.

The affected area will be between Dunlop and the U26 Clerkland Road.

The works are due to start on Monday 12 June 2023 and will last for up to two weeks including weekends if required.

To protect the roads operatives and the travelling public, daily road closures will be implemented between 8am and 6pm. During the road closure periods, there will be no access to or from the junctions of the U39 Gouknest Road or the C7 Neilston Road.

For non-high sided vehicles, a Signed Diversion Route will be in place via B778 Stewarton to A736 Auchentiber before re-joining the A735 at Lugton and vice versa.

High sided vehicles requiring access to or from Dunlop should proceed via the B706. There will also be No Waiting Restrictions implemented on B706 Main Street Dunlop, between Dunlop Kirk and Kirkland Road during the road closure times.

Please note that the works are weather dependent and it is proposed that the A735 will re-open each evening no later than 6pm. However, if there are any unforeseen site issues or adverse weather conditions such as hot temperatures, then the road may need to be kept closed until the surface is sufficiently cooled to have traffic on it again.

The Ayrshire Roads Alliance apologises for any inconvenience caused during these essential road works.
