Big changes in the way that employability services are funded and run throughout Scotland and the UK were outlined at Cabinet, as East Ayrshire Council reported on how it has tailored its way of working to help people of all ages and skills into sustainable training and secure jobs.

Following on from the above noted paper and recommendations that were presented at Cabinet this morning, Wednesday 28 June 2023, I write to advise you that Cabinet has agreed to the continuation of the subsidised school transport service in its present form until the concerns and issues that have been raised around the paper have been addressed in full.

A new puffin pedestrian crossing in Kilmaurs has been given the go-ahead by the Council at this week’s Cabinet meeting.

The Council’s Cabinet this week agreed to increase the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) value following national guidance issued by Scottish Ministers on the revised levels that can be charged for parking contraventions. From 1 August 2023, the charge will rise from £60 to £100.

The newly refurbished Catrine Early Childhood Centre (ECC) has been officially opened by former Head Teacher Mrs Mary Bunting, at a special ceremony.
