School Captains Alyssa and Aaron from St Joseph's Academy, and Acting Head of Campus Angela Buchanan, welcomed guests from the Council to their Campus recently to enjoy a fresh, sustainable school meal.

Works at the Palace Theatre in Kilmarnock will shortly commence and a number of access changes will be put in place to accommodate these works.

Our teams are still working hard with demolition crews, cleaning squads and shop owners and tenants to clear the debris and aftermath of last week's fire.

East Ayrshire Council’s Capital Programme works are continuing during the school summer holidays with improvement works taking place across the area. 

A special time capsule ceremony was performed at St Sophia’s Primary where children and young people from all age groups within the school and Early Childhood Centre, led the celebrations.

Alfie and Jack from Catrine Primary, and Jessica, Lily and Ilaria from Fenwick Primary, along with teachers Mrs Eccleston and Vicky McWilliam, were the stars of the recent ASSIST FM Conference 2025 held at the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow recently.

Following the recent vandalism and deliberate fire raising incidents at the former Greenmill Primary School and Auchinleck Academy building, East Ayrshire Council has been working with partners to secure the sites, to discourage further unauthorised access and to keep the public safe.

At the recent meeting of Full Council, a report was presented – Building a future East Ayrshire, Capital Investment Programme update – which set out East Ayrshire Council’s investment priorities for a number of key areas including educational facilities.

At a meeting for Full Council yesterday, Elected Members agreed a number of recommendations tabled as part of the Leisure and Culture Review.

St Sophia’s Primary School in Galston is currently being refurbished and is set to become the first EnerPHit certified school in the UK – creating a unique learning environment for children and young people.
