Young people in East Ayrshire put their best feet forward this summer, with more than 140 taking part in two popular summer dance workshops.

Over 150 bikers roared through East Ayrshire's towns and villages for Provost Jim Todd's Ride for Dad 2018. And for Jamie "Tiger" Todd he was "doing it for dad" for real, on his vintage Triumph Bonneville.

The Ayrshire Roads Alliance, on behalf of the Council, will be carrying out essential footway resurfacing works on Titchfield Street, Kilmarnock.

Last year, East Ayrshire Council launched the Respectful Funeral Service in partnership with three highly respected local funeral directors.

East Ayrshire’s extensive £6m road resurfacing programme is continuing at pace.  

In response to an enquiry from BBC Scotland, Michael Hilarion, Service Manager, Asset and Facilities, East Ayrshire Council said:

Empty and derelict buildings are a problem in villages, towns and cities throughout the country, blighting the appearance of our streets and causing problems for neighbours. But it’s hoped that this will soon start to change in East Ayrshire, with the introduction of new rules which will make it more expensive for owners to leave their properties unoccupied.
