Darvel is set for a new era in trading and socialising as bulldozers moved in this week.

The ground has been officially broken at Fraser Walk, New Farm Loch, Kilmarnock where the Council’s strategic partner CCG (Scotland) Ltd, the Glasgow-based contractor and manufacturer, is building 56 new homes for rent.

Since Placemaking became a significant feature of the East Ayrshire Local Development Plan in 2017, communities in East Ayrshire have been supported to develop their own Place Plans. Placemaking builds on the Community Led Action Plans and other community led initiatives

Cumnock Town Centre has undergone many positive changes in the last few years, with the Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) Funding, Town Centre Regeneration Fund and East Ayrshire Council funding to improve the built environment and restore many of its historic buildings using sympathetic materials and methods and make them fit for modern use.
