Plans for the future of land use in Ochiltree and Catrine took a step forward this week as East Ayrshire Council’s Cabinet approved the latest stage in the Placemaking processes for the two communities.

East Ayrshire Community Coalfields Landscape Partnership is celebrating their launch with two events and a series of walks designed to bring the communities together to share memories, ideas and enjoy their surrounding environment.

The landscape around East Ayrshire’s former mining communities is set to be transformed with the help of an initial Heritage Lottery Fund  (HLF) grant of nearly £200k.
