Businesses aiming to capitalise on partnership commitment

The tourism industry in Ayrshire is putting a plan in place to help secure the future of one of the region’s most important economic drivers.

Like every other town in Scotland, Kilmarnock is constantly evolving,  and with the Covid-19 pandemic,  Brexit, the energy crisis and the  effects of an economic downturn all having an effect on work patterns and shopping habits,  demand for, and use of, buildings and public spaces has changed dramatically in the last few years.

The annual PiDay celebrations at Grange Academy were literally electric this year, as young people from the school took part in a Pi Voltage experiment to approximate pi.

East Ayrshire Council’s Cabinet has agreed the Ayrshire Roads Alliance’s programme of investment works that will allow improvement works to be carried out to carriageways, footways and street lighting, in addition to bridge strengthening and investment in transportation, road safety and fleet vehicles.

East Ayrshire Council’s Cabinet has agreed to continue to invest in the Active Schools programme due to its ongoing success in East Ayrshire. It has also agreed to re-enter into a partnership agreement with sportscotland who have confirmed that they would want to continue their investment in both the Active Schools and the Community Sports Hubs programmes for another year and potentially up until 2027.
