Back in June, East Ayrshire Council’s Cabinet agreed to the demolition of the multi-storey car park in Kilmarnock. This week, Cabinet heard detailed plans for the demolition and agreed to a new pricing structure within two town centre car parks where vehicles can park for just £1.50 a day.

Free school meals are now on the menu for all P1 to P4 pupils throughout East Ayrshire, thanks to the Scottish Government’s universal free school meals initiative.

An art project in East Ayrshire has brought a splash of colour to town, promoting diversity and supporting wellbeing for young people. The art installation, featuring dragons, flying fish and computer game inspired characters, has transformed a busy walkway in Kilmarnock town centre into a unique gallery experience. 

All 36 Early Childhood Centres (ECC) in East Ayrshire are now delivering 1140 hours of funded Early Learning and Childcare (ELC), after the completion of the Early Learning and Childcare expansion programme. In addition, seven funded ELC providers and 40 childminders are on the Council’s contract framework to deliver funded ELC.

Moorfield Park in Kilmarnock continues to be the location of choice for local companies looking to expand their operations locally and earlier this week Council officials met with Scotia Double Glazing to learn more about their expansion plans at the business park.
